Amazon DSP Insurance
Commercial Auto · CGL · Workers' Comp · Cargo · Umbrella — Coverage Built for Oregon Delivery Service Partners
Amazon DSP Insurance Program
Amazon Delivery Service Partners operate as independent businesses — which means you are fully responsible for your own insurance. Amazon requires DSPs to carry commercial auto liability, commercial general liability, workers' compensation, and cargo legal liability as a condition of your Operating Agreement, and compliance is monitored continuously.
Gerald Ross Agency specializes in building insurance packages for Amazon DSPs throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. We understand the DSP contract requirements, know which carriers offer the most competitive rates for last-mile delivery fleets, and can issue certificates of insurance the same day your policy is bound. We are independent of the Marsh DSP program — meaning we shop 50+ carriers on your behalf to find the best combination of price and protection.

Commercial Auto Liability
Amazon minimum: $1,000,000 CSL
Covers bodily injury and property damage your drivers cause while operating Amazon-branded or company vehicles. This is the single largest cost in a DSP insurance package and the coverage Amazon monitors most closely.
Commercial General Liability (CGL)
Amazon minimum: $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate
Covers slip-and-fall claims at customer properties, property damage during delivery, and other non-auto liability exposures. Amazon requires you to name Amazon.com Services LLC as an additional insured.
Workers' Compensation
Oregon law: mandatory for all employees
Oregon requires workers' comp for every employee — including part-time and seasonal drivers. Failure to carry it exposes you to ORS 656 penalties and personal liability for injured workers' medical costs and lost wages.
Cargo Legal Liability
Amazon minimum: $100,000
Covers loss or damage to Amazon packages in your custody. Standard commercial auto policies exclude cargo — this must be written as a separate inland marine or motor truck cargo policy.
Hired & Non-Owned Auto (HNOA)
Recommended
Covers liability when employees use their personal vehicles for business errands related to your DSP operation. Without it, a personal auto policy may deny the claim and leave you exposed.
Umbrella / Excess Liability
Strongly recommended
Provides an additional layer of protection above your auto and CGL limits. A single serious accident can exhaust a $1M limit — umbrella coverage at $1M–$5M is inexpensive relative to the protection it provides.
